The Interreg MED Renewable Energy WebGIS is the place where you can discover and browse the relevant data and information concerning Renewables in the MED area! Its aim is to collect, organize and disseminate the results of activities carried out by the Renewable Energy Community. Browse by category to find out more about our layers, thematic maps and documents or create and upload your own maps and layers.

The Interreg MED Renewable Energy WebGIS is the repository for the data collected in the framework of the Interreg MED Renewable Energy Community activities, its projects and its members. The WebGIS is mostly meant to display GIS information, but it contains much more!

A few info for you to get started with it:

1. The WebGIS includes primarily three kind of objects: layers, maps and documents (click on the links to browse the respective catalogs, browse them from the upper menu, or use the search bar ↑).


2. LAYERS vs. MAPS: At first sight, layers and maps are very similar. But there is an important difference: a layer shows an individual dataset, whereas a thematic map is composed of several layers. In each layer, the spatial information is visualised and symbolised in a legend. By combining several layers into a map, you can display together different set of information, filter the attributes and use the available widgets. If you are a registered user, you can even save your map.


3. You can always refer to the official Geonode documentation for additional information.

From the catalogs you can:

1. Apply different filters (by free text, category, date and much more).
2. Sort the objects.
3. Navigate to the Info page of the object.
4. Select different layers and then add them to a map or...
5. ...open one directly into a map.

From the page you can:

1. View the layer in fullscreen by creating a map
2. Download the map in the available formats
3. View all the metadata
4. View the legend and other linked objects
5. Comment, rate and share the object!

From the map view you can:

1. Open the tools menu, which includes the catalog panel (that allows you to add new layers to the map) and the print function (to export the displayed map in pdf or image)
2. Open the layer panel to see the visible layers, change their order and transparency, as well to access other advanced options if you are a registered user.
3. Zoom in and out, plus other functions
4. Change the base map.
5. Interrogate the map by clicking on a point.
6. From the 'Catalog panel' search the available layers and add them to the map.
